I love the story behind the cake design. I think a) it's a cool cake, but b) that it's even cooler because you had it as your cake too. Asher will LOVE knowing that! So awesome!

Moving days were always filled with mixed emotions for me. Excited as we looked forward to a new adventure, deep sadness as we left dear friends and familiar settings and feelings of complete surrender as all of our worldly possessions departed in the back of those trucks, not knowing if we would ever see any of it again. Of course, the trucks always did arrive and it felt like Christmas morning as we opened everything and tried to find a new place to put it. We rejoiced when precious items arrived intact and grieved when special things had been broken in the move. But through it all, we drew closer together as a family because we acknowledged that no matter what happened we would always have each other and that was, by far, all that really mattered. Heavenly Father, please watch over, protect and guide Clayton, Teresa, Autumn and Asher, as they set out on this new adventure.

btw the wall behind the red couch was painted like a vase on his tea shelf. another third were painted like another vessel and the final third behind the counter was painted like the inside of one of his cups. the room was literally a vessel to hold all of the yummy goodness inside. wowsers.

Aloha Teresa, I jumped on Mary's FB and read this post. You know, I don't know why the overwhelmingly MALE game designers choose to portray women in some sort of scantily-clad idealized form that hardly matches reality, since they depict men so well. After all, aren't all gamer-guys 6' 2" hunks, ripped, abs-of-steel swarthy swashbuckling heroes? lolz. But you're right, of course ... chixors are poorly represented in games, both in illustrations and in game mechanics. You'll just have to design a cool female-dominant kind of game, something more "assertive"(?) than "nuns on the run," lol. How about (and please forgive the utter irreverance but it is only 0700 here in hawaii), "Babes with Bibles?" Kind of like Pandemic, smiting Evil instead of disease. Love to you & Clayton and the kids... Steve and Mary (who had no part in this and should not be blamed for my misbehavior).

Hey, great! My mom lives in Scottsdale. Maybe that means we'll actually get to see you again...will be home either Dec 2012 or July, 2013. Phx is really nice starting in Oct or so. Check out the public libraries. They have special passes you can check out to get 2 free tickets to places like art museums, childrens' museum (very very awesome), science museum, botanical gardens, etc.

Thanks Joseph! We are going to be living in Tempe, basically on ASU's doorstep. If you have any suggestions of fun things to do in the area or good places to eat we would love to know. We would like to try local spots to get to know the city. Maybe we will see you guys at some point!
